Artist Statement
In my oil paintings, I am exploring how man-made systems, organization and manufacturing dominate the experience of the outside world. Especially in urban settings, the heightened presence of man-made situations, while a necessity, are often overwhelming or humorous to me. My observations of the city I live in, Washington DC, and my past experiences serve as subject matter. I was born and raised in Uzbekistan; I am currently living and working in Washington, DC.
